As the trend for pre-loved goods continues to soar, the livestream shopping platform Whatnot is now shining a spotlight on its sneaker category in the UK. This dedicated section, which features sneakers and streetwear from various sellers, allows buyers to easily search by brand, style, or silhouette, making it simpler to find the perfect pair.
“Whatnot’s dedication to sneakers has been strong since the trend took off in the 1980s,” says Whatnot General Manager Daniel Fisher. “The sneaker industry has since exploded, with sneakerheads driving the passion and growth. Whether for wearing, displaying, or reselling, sneakers have become a vibrant micro-industry fueled by enthusiasm, athleisure trends, and personal expression.”
To mark the launch of its sneaker category, Whatnot is partnering with renowned London-based sneaker collector Kish Kash for a livestream auction of his impressive collection this Thursday. Alongside sneaker seller Jed Brailey, Kish Kash will offer up rare silhouettes from Nike and adidas, as well as new releases from brands like Saucony. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Kish Kash’s chosen charity, Breast Cancer Now.
During the livestream, viewers will also be introduced to Whatnot’s new Re:soled kits, developed in collaboration with shoe care brand Sneaky. These kits include specialized cleaning solutions, brushes, and wipes to maintain and restore sneakers. Participants in the live sale will have the chance to win free Re:soled kits and other sneaker-related prizes from partner sellers.
